About Me

Training

Trained at the Institute of Psycho-Structural Balancing (IPSB) in Culver City, California, I have more than 1100 hours of classroom training and private instruction. I am a certified therapist and work in a range of modalities, including Structural Integration, Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, and Forearm Dance.

My education began at IPSB with Tai Chi, an ancient form of martial arts that is often referred to as moving meditation. Tai Chi forms the basis of all movements around the table, which translates into a fuller, softer experience for the client. I supplemented regular coursework with private instruction with two mentors: Val Guin, creator of Forearm Dance™, and Bruce Schonfeld, Certified Advanced Rolfer™.

My training, like my work, is unique, integrative and creative.

Rick Otto

I was born in Cleveland, Ohio and attended Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. Not long after receiving my bachelor’s degree in Russian, I moved to California, where I lived for 16 years. Most of that time was spent in the corporate world, and the desire to lead a simpler, quieter life was always high on my agenda. I seized the opportunity to leave the business world behind and use my heart and hands in massage therapy. The work allows me to tap into my intuition and imagination to help clients feel more open and whole.

I love living in Vermont and sharing the wonders of the state with friends and family. I enjoy snowshoeing in the winter, and hiking when roads and trails are clear.
